Building a future leadership network

Future Leaders is a year-long development programme to up-skill, increase capacity and network leaders in the sector.

Future Leaders is tailored for early-career or aspiring leaders in the community and voluntary sector. The programme addresses the succession-planning gap and offers a valuable opportunity for organisations to increase the leadership capabilities of their staff/volunteers to ensure readiness for the future. Future Leaders promotes personal and professional development, critical thinking and collaboration.

After delivering three previous iterations of Future Leaders, it is clear that participants who can contextualise their leadership learning within their own role and are encouraged to take part by their organisations experience greater positive outcomes.

Future Leaders is a component of ‘Investing In Community Leadership In The West’, a five-year project Holywell Trust is delivering in partnership with Fermanagh Trust in Enniskillen and the Rural Community Network, based in Cookstown. Together, we aim to support the next generation of leadership in the community and voluntary sector in the west of Northern Ireland.

“Future Leaders creates a network of people with the skills and confidence to take the lead, who will work together and support each other, time and time again - well into the future.”
