Local people investing locally
A community dinner where local people become investors in community projects.
To us, this is a distillation of one of our core aims: an independent community and voluntary sector where local people are empowered to act and organise for the good of their community.
How does it work?
We support you
First, we identify four community groups with an early-stage project. We work with you to develop and practice a four-minute pitch for your idea.
You pitch your idea
Then, we put on a community dinner at £10.00 per seat: ticket sales are added to a funding pot. You deliver your pitch to our guests, and then everyone gets fed!
The community votes
During dinner, our guests vote in a secret ballot for the project they would like to fund. The most popular project is awarded the funding, with no strings attached.
